What this service is
Regency Research Services helps federal prisoners get careful answers to research questions through CorrLinks. Family members or sponsors buy research credits for them. When they write with a research request, we investigate and reply with findings.
This is research assistance only—not legal advice, and not a law firm. The person in custody must verify everything before relying on it. Messaging fees charged by the facility or CorrLinks/TRULINCS remain their responsibility; your purchase covers our research work only.
This is NOT a texting service and we do not facilitate communication between the prisoner and people on the outside.
Who this service is for
This service is only for federal inmates who have CorrLinks access. If the person you support is not in federal custody, or cannot use CorrLinks, we cannot provide research replies for them through this service.
How it works

They add us on CorrLinks
The inmate adds regencyresearchservices@gmail.com to their list of CorrLinks correspondents.

We accept their request
Once we accept, we are connected with them through CorrLinks (we may provide them with a different address to use at this time to ensure top-quality service and reduce the likelihood of any CorrLinks blockages).

They get a free trial
After we connect, they receive a free trial that includes free research credits so they can try the service.

They ask through CorrLinks
They send a research request the same way they already message. English is assumed to be the preferred language. However, if they send a request in Spanish, we will respond in Spanish from that point forward.

We research and reply
We investigate, write back with findings, and keep context from earlier messages so help stays continuous—not starting from scratch each time.

Credits are used only on research replies
We deduct credits when we successfully complete a research reply and attempt to send it. Ordinary account or access notices are not charged.

You can buy more credits later
Credits cannot be purchased for your loved one until we have successfully connected with them through CorrLinks. After that connection, you can buy additional credits here using their 8-digit registration number.
What it costs
Credits are $0.25 each. Purchases are one-time through PayPal—not a recurring subscription. Credits do not expire.

How credits are used
Most research replies use one to three credits, depending on depth and whether live lookups are needed:
- 1 credit Standard reply — everyday questions and drafting from knowledge and their file.
- 2 credits Live-data or in-depth — current lookups, or harder analysis that needs extra care.
- 3 credits In-depth + live data — demanding analysis that also needs current information.
