How CorrLinks research credits work
Credits fund research replies sent to a federal inmate through CorrLinks—not messaging fees charged by the facility.
Regency Research Services helps federal inmates who use CorrLinks get careful answers to research questions. A family member or sponsor buys credits; the person in custody asks through CorrLinks; we investigate and reply with findings.
The basic flow
- The inmate adds our CorrLinks address and we accept the connection.
- They receive a free trial with research credits so they can try the service.
- They send research requests the same way they already message.
- We research, reply with findings, and keep context from earlier messages.
- After the connection is established, you can buy more credits using their 8-digit registration number.
When credits are used
We deduct credits when we successfully complete a research reply and attempt to send it. Ordinary account or access notices are not charged. Most replies use one to three credits depending on depth and whether live lookups are needed.
What credits do not cover
Messaging fees charged by the facility or CorrLinks/TRULINCS remain the inmate’s responsibility. Your purchase covers our research work only.

Do credits expire?
No. Purchases are one-time through PayPal—not a subscription—and credits do not expire.
Can I buy credits before they are connected on CorrLinks?
No. Credits cannot be purchased until we have successfully connected with them through CorrLinks.
